UPDATE March 12, 2019: The updated version of the Taipei City 3D model boasts a larger coverage with more details and approximately 2.5 times more data compared to its predecessor. It also includes seven building groups for enhanced randomization. This model is now compatible with the Taipei Road Network 3D Model, but only update versions are interchangeable. The .blend file and .dxf formats have been added, while .3ds support has been dropped. Key stats include 15,012,08 points and 12,683,33 polygons. The original Taipei City 3D model is based on real-world data, providing a realistic representation of buildings and streets in the city. It comes with six building groups that can be customized by altering colors, materials, or textures. UV mapping ensures overlapping textures for seamless rendering. The model sits on a flat surface, with buildings positioned at ground level without elevation data. Geometry consists of polygonal quads and triangles, resulting in fast renders. The 3D model is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 (CC-BY-SA), allowing commercial use. OpenStreetMap provides the buildings and streets data (www.openstreetmap.org). The attribution for this data should be credited as © OpenStreetMap contributors/http://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright. Key stats for the older version are 6,855,68 points and 567,459 polygons. Supported formats include .c4d (native), .3ds, .fbx v7.1, .dae v1.5, .obj. Extra information clarifies that "streets" in the title refer to the area between buildings and not as a separate 3D model. Preview images showcase the exact 3D model you'll receive upon purchase. Please note that due to data processing limitations or urban planning projects, some buildings may be missing or non-existent. Updates are provided at no extra cost if such changes occur. Compatibility between street and building models is continuously added over time. Custom compatibility requests can be prioritized. These minimalistic 3D models show close-to-exact street and building alignments, heights, and can serve various purposes but are not designed for high precision urban landscapes or 3D printing. Upon purchase, you'll receive the exact 3D model displayed in the preview images. Lighting setups aren't included, so rendering is up to your scene or you can download a free render studio for Cinema 4D (native format) and FBX (exchange format). The .c4d file is ready for rendering. For .fbx and/or .dae files, light parameters must be set in your preferred 3D software.
