Taillight Post Adaptor - Bicycle Catrike Dumont
thingiverse
UPDATE January 1, 2020: I've just uploaded my latest design update for this taillight post. In place of using tie warps, it employs two M4-30 screws to secure a cap onto the main post assembly. The cap will require the bolt hole to be drilled to a larger diameter, but the main post body can accept the M4 screw by threading directly into the printed hole. To ensure proper alignment, make sure the bolt is threaded straight. This design clamps securely onto the tubing as shown in this video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/lUWKLw8ThA8 This adaptor post allows for the placement of a post-type taillight or headlight onto 25 to 26mm tubing using tie wraps. I needed a vertical post with a diameter of 26mm to mount my taillight, but couldn't find one available, so I created this file to print one. Both the tie wrap end and the post are designed for use on 26mm-diameter tubing/light mounts. This design prints easily without supports, although I used a brim to ensure sufficient surface area for the print to adhere properly. I printed with a .6mm nozzle and 1.4mm shell, using 15% infill, which seems sufficient. I used PETG material for this print, but PLA would also work well. For those interested, the tail light I'm using is a NiteRider Sentry Aero 260 Tail Light. I highly recommend it; it offers multiple modes and performs exceptionally well.
