Tail Light, Turn Signal, Reverse Light
thingiverse
I'm in the process of converting my wife's car, which got rear-ended into a 3-wheeled reverse trike. As I browse through the store for lights, it's clear that each light needs to be specifically designed for four different purposes: tail light, turn signal, reverse light, and parking light. I've come up with a new design that incorporates all these functions into one single light unit. This innovative solution features 96 bright 5050 L.E.D.s, which will provide exceptional visibility on the road. Once I complete soldering the micro-wiring, I'll seal the entire assembly in a clear epoxy resin to protect it from the elements. As you can see from the photo with only one strip of lights illuminated and covered, this light is already very noticeable. Just imagine how impressive it will look when all 96 L.E.D.s are fully lit up! I'll be posting more photos once I've finished wiring everything up, so stay tuned for that update. July 27, 2017: I've successfully soldered on the wires to control the tail light, brake light, turn signal, and reverse light functions. To facilitate this process, I had to create an extra 1mm platform to hold the L.E.D. light in place while I connected the wires and ran them through. One minor tweak is needed: I'll be adding an extra 470 ohm resistor to the tail lights so they dim slightly.
