Tai Chi (ish) Disc
thingiverse
The Tai Chi Disc is an uncomplicated tool made of two interconnected cylinders with curved diagonals, ideal for adapting round components such as spool adapters anywhere. I use it as a reliable method to create custom-shaped parts efficiently. With SCAD module dr_build, users can input parameters for outer diameter, ring width, and total thickness, allowing them to customize their creations easily. To replicate the Tai Chi Disc's design manually is quite straightforward - first create two cylinders where one has about half the original's diameter placed inside it; cut the combination in two then copy and paste the first part rotated 180 degrees to achieve a fundamental Tai Chi shape. In publishing this tutorial, keep in mind that drafts are irretrievable once they're published.
