Tactile Montessori Letters, and Word Game
thingiverse
The letter tiles are used to help form words in word games. The file names indicate the number of each letter needed to print all 117 English-French tiles with weighted quantities. These lower case cursive tiles are inspired by Montessori's sandpaper letters. Learners should trace the letters carefully as they hear or use their sounds, and there are many connected activities online that can be found below. The tiles include French letters like é and è, which have accented e's. Each print job creates 4 tiles, each measuring 2mm x 2 inch x 2.5 inches in size. The included holder can hold between 1 to 4 tiles at a time. Sharpie is used to color the letters, allowing users to pause and switch filament as needed. The hollow form of the letters starts at 1mm, and Montessori methods suggest using one color for vowels and another contrasting color for consonants.
