A series of chevron point symbols from R. Rener (1993) Tactile Cartography: Another View of Tactile Cartographic Symbols, The Cartographic Journal, 30:2, 195-198. One of the five-point symbols Rener discovered listed in at least three studies as extremely readable for people with visual impairments. This shape boasts a rounded top surface that makes it perfect for use on tactile maps to help create readable symbols for students.
