Tactile Classroom Model
thingiverse
This tactile model of a generic classroom is designed to enable teachers to convey basic geography concepts to visually impaired students within the classroom setting. The wind rose serves as a tool to transport the student out of the classroom, introducing them to an understanding of their macroenvironment. For this resource to function effectively, it requires a perforated wood sheet with specific dimensions (20.5 x 17.5 mm and 4.0 mm hole) and a MDF sheet measuring 41.5 x 37.0 mm. All braille labels on the model are written in Portuguese. Developed by the Research and Development Group of Assistive Technology at the Federal University of São Carlos (NTA / UFSCar / Sorocaba), this assistive technology project is a result of collaboration with the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) through funding provided under the Vertátil Project (Process No. 442261 / 2016-0). The research team extends its gratitude to research collaborators and the State Education Network of Sorocaba for their support.
