Tactile board game pawns for blind and visually impaired players (ludo pieces, Mensch Ärger Dich Nicht)
thingiverse
Board game pawns with different heads for blind and visually impaired players. The pawn heads are different in shape. Looking from above: square, triangle, circle and star. This combination makes it easy to "grab and twist" for easy recognition. The base of the design is 15mm in diameter (can be scaled in slicer), they are 24mm in height. Each has a hole in the bottom to either stack pieces or to place a magnet. To make it easy for blind and visually impaired players, make sure the pieces are secured. That means that the pawn foot diameter match holes in the game board or magnets hold the pawns against a metallic game board. Additionally if stacking is relevant for the board game, make sure that the pieces fit tightly so they do not fall off easily. All heads are sized so they fit tightly, but your slicer+printer results might differ. Hope you find this useful. Enjoy!! Customize your own in Fusion360: https://a360.co/3CukI1T
