Tackle Bag Organizer for Crankbaits - Spiral Vase

Did you know that tackle bag compartments are a standard size? This is why you can purchase tackle box inserts that stack neatly inside of your tackle bag. These tackle bag inserts are ¼ the size of a standard tackle box - which means you can put 4 of them neatly across the inside of your tackle bag. They are ideal for storing crankbaits, which otherwise get rusty when stored inside of a closed box. This simple model is used to demonstrate how to make your spiral prints have extra features at the top of the print. The thumb tab and cut-out top is normally removed by the slicer, but by applying a negative volume we get a double layer vase mode print with the vase folding back on itself, freeing the geometries for added topologies. How to print: I made a few slicer adjustments to make the print go faster. First off, turn off auto-cooling on the filament tab to reduce print time by 50%. I also increased the part fan speed - it impacts the adhesion of the double layer at the top of the print. You may have to mess with cooling and print temperatures to get a good double wall bond at the top of your prints.Recommend using the pre-sliced .3mf file - this one has the modifier positioned and set up as a negative volume. If you don't use the modifer, you get an interesting result, but it isn't usable for storing fishing tackle. Recommend PETG - as your inserts will be used outdoors and on hot days.Note: The result is not perfect. Because the double layer starts up at the top of the object, there is no support to get the inside layer to bond. The size and position of the modifier are used to adjust how much stringing results in the final print. Some cleanup of unsupported extrusions is needed - but with some playing around, changing the size of the modifier, you can nearly eliminate all of these defects. The overall tube is usable and the reinforcement from the double layer makes it “fishing ready” from a wear and tear perspective.
