Tablut is a very old chess-like Viking board game. Tablut is one of the best described games from the Hnefatafl group. These games originally come from Lapland and have probably already been played by the Vikings. In this game, both players have different goals. The eight blond Swedes with their king (the white figures) have to compete with 16 Russians (the black figures). The Swedes try to pull their king to safety in one of the 4 corners, while the Russians want to capture the Swedish king. There are a lot of rules for this game.
