Tabletop Poster or Photo Stand - foldable

thingiverse

This is a compact foldable poster stand I created to replace the flimsy table top foam core add that the printers had botched. It folds flat when not in use, and unfolds simply and locks securely when in action. Print exactly as shown in the image. The posterhinge.stl is a single piece part, which prints together seamlessly. However, the lockplate.stl and retentionring.stl are separate parts that require minimal supports as illustrated in my screen shot. To assemble it correctly, apply a strip of double-sided tape down the vertical back of the thin straight section, ensuring it aligns perfectly with a vertical line on the back of your poster. When standing upright, this design leans back 5°, so be sure not to use the bottom as a reference point for positioning. This stand was designed to accommodate large prints on the CR-10 (12" square build plate), but it can also be scaled up or down slightly. However, if you do decide to scale it smaller, make sure to test your tolerances on the hinged areas. I hope you like this design! If you do, please share your finished photos with me.
