Tabletop Miniature Flying/Elevation Stand
thingiverse
This is my design to create a stand which can be used to distinguish elevation changes for playing with tabletop miniatures. The stand should measure slightly larger than 1" by 1" by 2" It was designed for use in tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons and was meant to be used for figures with a one inch diameter circular base. Figures with a larger base may not sit down inside and be less stable or will need to be supported by multiple stands. The stands can also stack together to allow for multiple elevation levels in the same area, but they tend to become unstable when stacked higher than two. Each stand can be printed to measure in either 5 or 10 unit increments, by using the 30ft or 60ft label files respectively. The pieces should be able to be printed on any 3D printer in PLA or similar materials based on the printer settings. A layer width of 1 mm seemed to work well for me for most of the stand and the flag was printed at 0.5mm. I would suggest printing the flag in a different material or painting it a different color than the rest of the stand before assembly, so that it is easier to see from a distance. I hope it is helpful and let me know if you have any suggestions for this or other similar designs.
