Tablet Mount for the Creality Ender 3
thingiverse
This is a simple tablet mount for the Creality Ender 3, also compatible with the Creality Ender 3 Pro. I've incorporated a Raspberry Pi into my Ender 3 using OctoPi, and this old tablet caught my attention as a potential remote control interface for OctoPrint without needing to turn on my computer. Although it's an older model and slow, I designed it to be modular so it can fit various tablets, smartphones, and HDMI displays connected directly to the Raspberry Pi. This design adds a nice touch of smartness to the printer, allowing you to play games on it while printing! Since it runs Android, you can install games for entertainment during printing sessions. The model does not include sides, ensuring compatibility with taller tablets without any issues. If your tablet is significantly taller than mine and tends to slide off (due to PLA's slipperiness), simply apply double-sided tape between the tablet and the mount piece for added stability. The design allows for any size of tablet or smartphone to sit on top, as long as it meets certain dimensions: at least 12cm tall to prevent falling, 13cm wide to avoid interfering with the build plate knob, and 11mm thick to fit snugly inside the mount. The left side of the mount, visible in the photo, is attached to the bottom-left 4040 aluminum profile on my printer. You may need to thread the holes for screws, as I forgot this step during printing, but a little patience and an M4 screw will resolve the issue. If you're using a metal case without a board, simply check if it has the necessary holes for mounting. The right side is more adjustable and modular, utilizing the 2040 profile on the Ender 3 or the 4040 on the Ender 3 Pro, where the Y-axis slides into place easily. This design consists of two pieces: - A profile mount (AggancioBinario.stl) that slides into the profile's groove near the front of the printer under the Y-axis belt, providing a strong hold. - The right side mount, where the tablet sits, has a hole for a M4 nut. You can use this nut and screw to adjust the height and angulation of the other piece until it fits perfectly. In the future, I plan to make the left side modular as well, allowing you to adjust the tablet's position to your liking. However, my current filament supply has run out, so I'll need to print a prototype before sharing it with you. If you decide to print this mount yourself and would like to share a photo, I'd greatly appreciate it! Also, feel free to check out my other designs on my profile, as I'm still learning but have many ideas waiting to be shared. A tip or feedback from you will not only make my day but also motivate me to continue creating more designs for the 3D printing community.
