I craved a mount for my Nexus 7 tablet in my Kia Soul that could effortlessly slide out when I wasn't using it and for added security measures. To make this feasible, I repurposed part of an affordable tablet case, making it simple to remove the tablet. Subsequently, I hot glued this three-dimensional printed part, which is meant to fit snugly into the CD slot, securely onto the back of the shell. This adaptable mount should be compatible with any compact-sized tablet casing. Nevertheless, it's uncertain how larger devices would handle weight-related concerns. It's likely that any case sporting a similar clip-in design could be successfully modified to integrate this printed component. Please note: I take no responsibility for any damage that may occur to your CD player as a result of utilizing this attachment; while it operates without issues in my car, other vehicles' components might differ significantly. Instructions: Begin by obtaining an existing case designed specifically for the tablet of your choice - often readily available at discount stores for minimal expense. The desired type usually features an internal plastic casing and an exterior faux leather 'folio.' Extract the inner shell from the outer case. Download the provided STL file and verify that it fits properly in your CD player before proceeding with assembly. In my Kia Soul, I've effectively utilized this mount when storing it above a compartment designed for sunglasses - simply by securing it when the lid closes. For added stability, some individuals might prefer to secure the mount further using a piece of Velcro placed on the interior panel and secured under the folded-up compartment that matches with the plastic shell. Once prepared, securely attach the printed part onto the rear surface of the internal casing with hot glue.
