I redesigned the part with the ball mount incorporated, greatly simplifying it as I don't like the neck strap. Using crazy glue to hold everything together works perfectly. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out a way to attach it neatly like the original design, so I'm open to suggestions. As is, it gets the job done!
