Update April 1, 2019. I've divided the spool into two halves, each printed from half_spool.stl. This makes printing horizontally with no supports much easier, while also allowing me to print crosspoint.stl for alignment when gluing. My design is a strong yet easy-to-print table top spool holder. It features four holes in its base for screwing directly onto a surface if desired. The cylindrical pin fits snugly into any spool hole and can be easily replaced by simply lifting it out and dropping the new one back into place. Minimal supports are required, with only TubeSHb.stl and BaseSH.stl needing them. AframeSH.stl prints perfectly without any additional support material needed. I printed this design using PLA, applying two outer layers and 20% infill to minimize material usage while maximizing strength. Assembly is straightforward - simply press the pieces together before running some CA (super glue) along the edges to secure them in place. If you're interested in a larger version, let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate your request.
