Table top aligner

Table top aligner

I have a couple of IKEA Alex drawer units and a table top resting on them, but sometimes I would bump the desk or try to move it, and since they are not connected, they would get misaligned. So I designed male and female parts to be screwed to the top and the drawer units in order to align them.↳ Each piece can have two screws to avoid rotation of the piece.↳ They have a press-fit with a small tolerance in order to remain in place without wobbling. AssemblyWhat I did was print a pair for each of the exterior corners of the desktop (the green ones). The red ones are jump dummy pieces that provide height without securing the pieces and are screwed to the drawer units.Using the aligner tool, screw the top pieces to the table top and the bottom pieces to the drawer units.Screw the dummy steps as wellRest the table top on the drawer units and voilá, everything should be aligned. FeedbackWas this a super complicated, over the top solution for a small problem?Could this be done in a better way or not be done at all?The answer for both can be yes, but it works it ain't stupid. And I had fun designing it and putting it in place. And best of all, the desk never got misaligned again. But feel free to comment and give suggestions!
