I had a special need for my laser setup to include a fixed metal table and the ability to permanently mount my rotary chuck. I didn't plan this in advance, but it worked out quite well. I thought I'd share back to the community that's helped me. I found this inexpensive metal bed at home depot for $10. metal peg board. I needed a few brackets to mount it raised on the ortur x-frame rails. First attempt was the back brackets, which are custom to hold "this" peg board. Unfortunately they didn't work on the side rails, so I created some new brackets for the side rails. The side brackets needed clearance for the y-axis travel. They also needed t-nuts inside the rail to attach stabilized. Turns out you could use these "side" brackets anywhere on the frame to mount any other kind/size bed.I needed a cross brace between the sides to hold up one side of the bed. I just used some 1/2 aluminum angle. On a complete tangent. I repurposed an old furnace as my engraving box. Worked out perfect. Even has a perfect (strong and quiet) extraction fan (pillaged from the furnace, - not the blower fan, but the exhaust starter fan).
