myminifactory
Roman board game - Tabula Lusoria. The name Tabula Lusoria is more of a term for the board and it means roughly the same as "playing field" in Latin. The game is designed for two players and consists of a special, rosette board with eight fields arranged in a circle with one central field connected to each field on the circle and two sets of pieces in two colors, three in each. The game consists of two stages: positioning and moving. The starting player is chosen by agreement of the players or by drawing lots. We start the setup stage with a clean board. Each turn, a player may place one piece on the board, in any free space. When all three pieces of both opponents are on the board, the stage of moving begins. Players must move any piece each turn. Pawns can move along any straight line towards the center or out, or along the curved edge of the circle to the next empty space. Pieces cannot jump over another piece, move more than one square, or enter a square already occupied. The object of the game is to place the three pawns so that together they form a straight line.
