Tabitha The Witch
myminifactory
MyMiniFactory's AutoDesk ReMake competition entry showcases a captivating journey from an original 3D scanned animation puppet, crafted for a final-year university course, to a refined digital 3D model optimized for 3D printing, perfect for bringing animations to life. Initially, the concept revolved around utilizing the 3D scan within virtual reality software, where characters or entire animations could be immersed in a fully immersive VR experience, with the HTC Vive serving as an ideal tool for this project. However, the original design harbored unnecessary elements, such as a box for the character to stand on and various bumps that were later removed and smoothed during editing. Additional features like a hat and wand were added to amplify the character's personality. Looking back, there are areas where improvements can be made, including refining the photography process, particularly when capturing joints, as this would significantly reduce the amount of editing required. Future refinements could also focus on enhancing texture detail for an even more authentic experience.
