Tab Can Opener - Easy Tab Lift and Lid Pull Support I discovered several tab can openers, but most were only designed to lift the tab, which is sufficient for soda cans, but I needed something more. If you want to peel off the lid, I found hook-like devices that still required a lot of force. I created this opener for my mum who has major issues with her hands and she now finds it easy to open even larger food cans that have lids that need to be peeled off. The opener supports two steps to open up the can. 1. Lift the tab to penetrate the edge of the lid, which is hard on your fingernails. 2. Peeling off the lid using the tab, which normally needs a lot of force for the first part. Depending on the size of the can, it even locks onto the rim of the can for easier peeling. Printing: I included two models: 1. This model includes a small support to stabilize the bracket for the tab lifting. 2. This model is without support if you have a good printer covering the hanging surface.
