T8 8mm Lead Screw and D-Shaft Coupler
thingiverse
I often find that set screw couplers included with printer kits fall short of delivering a precise and smooth motion due to the significant challenge of centering the shaft and lead screw within the coupler. This can result in wobbly lead screws and z-banding issues. I designed this adapter to utilize M3 Nuts and Bolts to securely clamp around the D-Shaft of the stepper motor and T8 lead screw, providing a suitable friction fit and perfectly aligning the two components. There is no flexibility between the two parts, which may cause problems on lower-cost machines that relied on the "give" provided by the original coupler. A side note: The M3 Nut recesses may be quite tight due to this design being printed vertically, which I strongly recommend. To overcome this, I suggest placing the nut onto the first few threads of a bolt and then using the bolt to push the nut into position. Subsequently, simply twist the bolt counterclockwise to release it and leave the nut in place. To assemble this adapter, you will need: 8x M3 Nuts 8x M3 Bolts (at least 6mm in length)
