T42 AKA M42, 42mm to Canon EF-S - A Game-Changing Adapter for All Your Lens Needs! This adapter unlocks the full potential of your manual lenses on any camera or adapter that accepts a 42mm thread, giving you unparalleled flexibility and creativity in your photography endeavors. The critical flange/sensor distance must be carefully considered when adapting a lens to your camera, but don't worry - this adapter has got you covered! My personal use case is adapting a cheap camera bellows with an EF-S mount to serve as the focusing mechanism for fixed focus enlarger lenses. With this adapter, I can now seamlessly integrate these lenses into my workflow. The adapter prints in two convenient pieces: the 42mm threaded side can be extended to adjust the sensor-to-lens distance to accommodate various camera models. This clever design ensures a perfect fit every time! Check out v2 of this adapter, which boasts an even shorter flange distance and built-in supports that eliminate the need for additional support materials. The result is a flawless print that perfectly aligns with your camera's EF-S mount. Printer Settings: * Printer: HicTop Prusa i3 * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.2 mm * Infill: 70% * Notes: Orientate the part with the 42mm thread side facing down, and remove any built-in supports from the EF-S mounting side. This adapter is printed using ProtoPasta Carbon Fiber PLA, which provides an excellent balance of strength and finish quality. The result is a part that requires minimal post-processing to achieve a professional-grade finish. ABS or PET-G would also be suitable alternatives, but keep in mind that straight PLA may be too soft for this thin diameter. Designing This Adapter The design was carefully crafted using Tinkercad, a powerful CAD tool that enables seamless editing and customization of the part.
