T4 Quadcopter External LED Arm Mount
thingiverse
My inaugural design, a straightforward glue-on mount for exterior LEDs on the T4 quadcopter arms. The LEDs simply friction-fit into place with the right amount of force. To install, insert the LEDs into the mount, flatten the pins, and then cut them off. Next, solder the connections and apply adhesive to secure the mounts to the arms. This design is remarkably easy, simple, and fast. Be certain to use a suitable resistor; I utilized 220-ohm resistors, one for each pair of LEDs. After that, connect the front LEDs to power via the APM, while linking the rear red LEDs to signal and ground pin 6 on the autopilot module. With this setup, the front LEDs remain constantly illuminated, while the rear LEDs light up when a GPS lock is established. This solution works flawlessly, producing a clean appearance in flight as well. The simplicity and affordability of this design make it an ideal choice for any quadcopter enthusiast.
