thingiverse
The first shipment of 50 T-26 tanks arrived in Cartagena on October 15, 1936. They quickly entered combat; on October 26, under the leadership of Soviet Lieutenant Colonel Semión Krivoshéin, south of Madrid. The first combat operation in Spain of the T-26 took place near Seseña, when a company of Republican tanks counterattacked against the spearhead of the insurgent unit during its advance towards Madrid. 281 T-26 were delivered to Spain during the civil war, demonstrating such superiority against German armor (light tank PzKpfw I) and Italian (tankette CV.3/35), vulnerable to shots from the T-26. The rebel command decided to offer a cash reward (500 pesetas of the time) for each captured specimen. However, despite being superior to German tanks in that war, many were destroyed with relative ease. The rebel side devised a way to destroy the T-26, even throwing blankets over the air intakes of the engines and making them burn with some flammable component. One of these tank carriages, "T-26" Model 1933, is among the treasures of the Spanish Museum of Armored Units.
