T- slot profile 30X30mm
thingiverse
I recently came across a profile used for building a RepRap printer. This inspired me to design and print my own version, aiming to make it more affordable and lightweight by replacing the aluminum profile. I have completed the design but haven't printed it yet; the dimensions are 12cm with extendable options, so it's not overly large. To test its strength, I previously printed a 5cm version with 2 layers and 30% infill, which turned out to be very robust. I used PLA filament for testing, but ABS would make it even stronger, albeit more prone to breaking. In terms of material hardness, steel is harder than iron, but also breaks more easily; in this case, the profile. I've even provided the gcode for your convenience, as it consists of approximately 1200 layers and would take a significant amount of time to print.
