T-pull Door Closer

T-pull Door Closer

I have a door with one threshold, but it has two steps leading down to the next level. If you don't hold the door as you're also going down the stairs, it becomes a longer stretch to grasp the handle and shut it from below. This T-pull design allows me to close the door from the lower level without straining for the handle. The mounting bracket attaches directly to the existing door handle. To ensure secure installation, verify that the screws holding the handle together are long enough to accommodate the added thickness of the T-pull base. Additionally, confirm that the bolt remains engaged with the handle as well. Initially, I used an extension spring that was too short for my needs, spanning the two mounting points on the T-pull. To bridge this gap, I employed two wire ties to make up for the difference in length.
