To enhance heat distribution, the J heads feature two elements, ensuring quick and even heating. Thermester is strategically placed inside the heat core for precise temperature readings. The resistor, machined from aluminum, is cemented in place with either 2 x 2W 10 ohm for a normal power range of 24W or 2 x 6 ohm for high power 48W. For 48W mode operation, an EC capable of driving 12 @ 5A is required. A custom cement mixture of fire clay, sodium silicate, and water can be applied; however, ceramic cement works well too, though finding a reliable supply may be challenging. After applying the cement, allow the device to power up on 1A for 10 minutes followed by 30 minutes on 0.5A to activate the sodium silicate hardener.
