T-Handle linkbar

T-Handle linkbar

Details: A mostly engineered design (mechanically robust, some assembly features may need minor changes) The link bar-design allows for large range of travel for the T-handle, while keeping fingers and hands from banging into the door mechanism - way more clearance than the original design. The leverage is slightly better than in the original volvo design. Total travel is 22mm (not 20) - allows for any cable creep or looseness in the cable harness. Total assembly mass is 128 gr. Approx 20 gr can be saved by introducing cutouts into the T-handle and other aluminum parts with a corresponding increased fabrication cost. It's a supercar, I know, but cost is always a factor. 25 gr can be saved by reducing the overall thickness of the pocket carbon fiber from 2mm to 1.5mm - really depends on what the fabricators are comfortable with. The aluminum castings should be anodized to provide a higher quality surface, and color-blending aluminum would be great to add to the 'polish' of the design. I left the mechanism exposed because it 'looks' cool (similar to how the door mechanism is left exposed) Back plate: cast aluminum Cable pull: cast aluminum Link bar: cast aluminum M4: SS OTS bolt Panel Inset: Carbon fiber w/post machining Pivot Pin: SS T-Handle: cast aluminum
