T-handle Hex Key Metric Stand Set
thingiverse
I purchased the Kobalt 14pc T-handle hex key set at Lowe's: Item #759896, Model #K14TH.\r\n(https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-14-key-Metric-Standard-SAE-Hex-Key-Set/1000366459).\r\n\r\nThe plastic case it came in was not suitable for me. I prefer a tool stand, definitely over digging for the size I need in a toolbag.\r\n\r\nInstead of buying a separate stand online, I started designing my own tool holders to print. I mainly use metric keys to work on 3D printers, so I didn't design stands for SAE standard versions.\r\n\r\nI realized some people may not have or need all the sizes, so I wanted to be able to print them separately rather than one piece with all seven sizes. These are designed to be screwed into something as a base, such as wood or directly into a workbench. The holes are meant to be somewhat loose.\r\n\r\nThe seven hex sizes in this set are: 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10mm. I imagine these would work for any brand, so they can be considered universal keys, though some have different length keys and handle heights.\r\n\r\nI printed mine with 10% infill, 0.2mm layer height and no rafting. I laid them on the side to print without supports at these settings, taking a little over three hours each.
