This device is specifically crafted for use with 1.3mm solid copper wire, Du-Bro antenna tubes, and RG402 coax. To achieve optimal performance at 868MHz, employ 78mm elements, while 74mm elements are recommended for 915MHz operations. Utilizing alternative materials may compromise the tuning, whereas the specified components will yield spot-on results when constructed correctly. Refer to the accompanying images as a guide to assemble this device. By following these instructions, you can create solder joints that are virtually indestructible. To ensure accurate element placement, extend them beyond the required length and trim after soldering; measure from the coax's center for the active element and from the shield for the passive element. Clearly mark the active portion of each component to prevent confusion during assembly. Avoid using heatshrink on the tip of the antenna tube, as this can throw off the tuning. Instead, use a pen or apply a differently colored heatshrink band to the brace to identify the active part.
