T-800 Terminator on Base
thingiverse
This is a complete T-800 exoskeleton, fully equipped with a deadly firearm, mounted on a sturdy base. The original model can be downloaded from http://www.terminatorfiles.com/goodies/3d/endo12.zip, although I had to brave hell and back just to print it out myself. Despite not being the creator of this work, I still put in an enormous amount of effort to create the stl files that made this model a reality, so I hope all you Terminator enthusiasts out there will enjoy it. If you're easily intimidated, you may want to think twice before printing this. To make sure everything comes out right, check out the instructions on how to get it printed correctly. To print detailed pieces like the head, hands, and lower leg components, you'll need to use 100-micron layers and a .25mm extrusion width (that's what Simplify3D calls for). The solid base parts can be done at standard settings: .4mm extrusion width and 200-micron layer height. Any sections with minimal detail can also be printed at .35 extrusion width, while still using 100 micron layers. Printing this was a real challenge; I lost some fingers along the way (but that was mine, not yours). At full scale, printing time came in at around 150 hours, although it can definitely be done at half scale – if you're brave enough to try. I used silver PLA and Weld-on 16 to put this behemoth together, while a soldering gun set at 500F proved to be the key to fusing certain parts and getting them to fit just right. Some experimentation with temperature and pressure also came into play during printing. The model looks even more impressive when it's all finished, I think you'll agree – and with any luck, the rest of us won't lose our minds in the process!
