T-19 105mm Howitzer Motor Gun Carriage - 28mm
thingiverse
This is a 28mm model of the WW2 American T-19 Motor Gun Carriage, their first attempt at creating mobile 105mm fire support. A link explaining its history can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T19_Howitzer_Motor_Carriage. I started by modifying a previously remixed M3/M5 Half track and created the storage and gun mount in the passenger compartment, working from online photos I found. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a workable 105mm 3D model, so I cut out the 105mm from Bergman's M-7, crafted the elevation trunnions and elevation wheels, and cleaned it up to make it functional. It sits on a post without needing glue. I left the MMG mounts in the passenger area intact. If desired, simply clip them out of the hull using Tinkercad. I included them to give users the option to remove the 105mm and place the HMG in the center pintle while positioning the two MMGs on the side of the passenger area. This would transform the half track into a normal carrier, utilizing it for double duty. A historical photo of an M3 HT with the HMG mounted is included; this was a common setup as not all HMGs were mounted in the "pulpit" mount next to the driver. Be sure to examine the photos for track placement, as they fit snugly and the driver sprocket should be positioned at the front.
