Syringe Tray
thingiverse
I have a diabetic dog that needs two insulin injections every day. Failing to administer an injection is not good, and giving a double dose can be fatal. I was looking for something like a pill reminder but couldn't find anything commercially available for syringes. Searching for "syringe tray" actually yields some results. I also looked for a simple plastic organizer tray with seven slots but didn't find one that met my requirements. This custom-made tray provides a visual indication that an injection has been given. Simply fill the tray at the beginning of the week, and it's easy to see what shot is due next. In addition to the tray, I use a printed matrix with the day of the month as columns and the medication as rows (my dog also needs eye drops). The font used for the lettering is "Minecraft Evenings," which was created using Sketchup. I've included the Designspark Mechanical file for modification if anyone wants to make changes. The tray's dimensions are 191mm x 130mm x 19mm, so printing it takes a while (over nine hours in my case). The top piece is designed to press-fit but required glue to hold it in place. The syringes used are 3/10ml U100 type. **Update: June 19, 2018** I added another top piece with more conventional-style letters, which I prefer. I also printed some trays using a .6mm nozzle on my Creator Pro and CR10. This object works well with a .6mm nozzle and cut the print time almost in half (using a .3mm layer height).
