The spark for this idea ignited after walking Linda Flowers through the intricacies of crafting a complete character. Kiddo, her very first model, quickly grasped the basics of modeling, retopology and texturing within just a month's time. Simultaneously, Synth - the elderly character - began taking shape as I patiently explained each step to her. My primary objective was to create non-verbal characters that could be brought to life through actions, lighting effects and camera angles. The Unreal sequencer proved to be the perfect tool for this task. As awakeners, both Synth and Kiddo travel across different worlds, awakening the gods of various musical genres in seemingly neutral environments. In this instance, the awakened deity is none other than that of New Retro Wave music. Every character was carefully crafted using my tried-and-true workflow: Zbrush for high-poly modeling, Maya for retopology, UV mapping and rigging, Substance Painter for texturing, Maya for animation, and finally Unreal Engine 4 and Marmoset for the final renderings. I'm thrilled to share this project with you, and a huge thank you goes out to Linda Flowers (www.instagram.com/linda__flowers__) for her invaluable contribution to this endeavor!
