Made this mod for my Synology DS920+, which is placed inside a bookshelf. The vibrations from the HDDs resonated into the wall and made a lot of noise.

After attaching squash balls to it, the vibrations inside the shelf plate is greatly reduced. There are no more noise from the wall/bookshelf, and i can only slightly feel vibrations when placing my hand on the shelf plate.

The squash ball is clamped to hold it in place, this will probably deform the ball over time.

There is a small cutout for the original feet, putting some foam tape on it will give enough hold for keeping the squash ball feet attached when lifting the NAS.

When placed, you can adjust the feet one side at the time to ensure that it is flushed with the bottom of the case. (Or use more foam tape on the bottom of the case if you want to.)
