Syma X8C Battery box with lid
thingiverse
This is a Syma X8C 6 battery box with snap lid. I'm uploading it for Predator04 who asked for such a box. Okay, printed it. But I made a mistake - ABS isn't the best material for the lid. My PLA print turned out much better and the snaps actually keep the lid on. Plus, I learned an important lesson today: don't skimp on the quality of the glue. This morning I woke up to find my ABS part had lifted off from the build plate. That was 9 hours down the drain. Anyway, I think PLA might be a better choice for this project. Here's the 123d Design file - feel free to mess around with it. Print Settings: Printer: XYZ da Vinci Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .3 Infill: 10% Notes: After printing the lid in both ABS and PLA, I think PLA is better suited for this project - at least on my printer. I recommend using two shells and at least 10% infill. This print takes a long time - over 9 hours on my printer.
