Syma X8 Drone Motor Adapater
thingiverse
I had a stash of extra Syma X8 motor housings (http://amzn.to/2l50c4k) so I designed a 3D printable adapter to use them on my quad build project. You can also get the receiver here (http://amzn.to/2lgVFY3) to drive the motors and create an affordable quad with your 3D printer. Be sure to check out our website http://Video-Drone.DIY3Dtech.com for more info on this project and many others. Note - I've uploaded a new version (v2) of the design, which allows you to use M2 bolts and nuts to fasten the shaft housing instead of Syma's self-threading screws. The center hole has been modified so you can drill it out and use either an M2 or M3 bolt. To secure the shaft housing, I recommend using epoxy - if the 3D housing breaks, however, you're in trouble. Print Settings: Printer: Any printer will do Rafts: Not necessary Supports: Yes, use them for a clean print Resolution: 0.3mm or better Infill: Use 20-40% infill as needed - the more, the merrier! Notes: Just clean up and fly - it's that easy!
