Sybu Filamant Spool Holder
thingiverse
I have printed numerous designs, but finding one that meets my requirements has proven to be a challenge. I decided to design this Spool Holder with several key considerations in mind. All parts must be printable without any additional purchases. I don't want to buy threaded rods, bearings, poles, screws, or any other materials. The holder should not require assembly. Measuring and cutting or sawing rods, poles, pipes, or anything else is also out of the question. To ensure rigidity, the frame must be printed as a single unit without any mechanical assembly. Similarly, the spindle must be printed, eliminating the need for a rod or pipe that constantly requires securing. A simplistic yet functional design was my goal. The holder should support different hub/mount hole diameters and remain stable to prevent it from falling apart or toppling over. It was primarily designed for ESUN, Verbatim, and Protopasta spools. If you have a different size, please let me know, and I'll add some variations. I recommend placing the frame on a high-friction surface to prevent it from sliding. I use a rubber mat. Update 3 - January 9, 2017 A wider frame (95mm) was added for Verbatim 1kg spools. Additionally, a spool with a diameter of 51mm was added to the design. Update 2 - November 30, 2016 The spindle was modified to print easier by adding a flat bar to the bottom for better adhesion to the build plate. Variations with support were also created, including three different spindle/hub sizes: 52, 54, and 56mm. Print Settings: * Frame: 0.3mm, 20%+ infill * Spindle: 0.25-0.3mm, 20%+ infill
