Syberia style Apple MacBook 2015 stand
thingiverse
This is a Syberia game-themed Apple MacBook 2015 stand designed to complement my LED bridge lamp perfectly. The geared design will look fantastic with the lamp's sleek aesthetic. Later, I plan to build an intricate diorama within this structure. I created this stand because when working at my desk in my workshop, I needed a way to hold my laptop vertically to ensure a reliable WiFi signal. Since I have a large screen monitor, there's no need to keep my laptop open, and a small screen can be distracting - so, this was my solution for my specific setup. Others may find that a WiFi extender or a stand that allows the screen to be held open works just as well. Printer Settings Printer: Original Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 25 Notes: Most parts are printed flat, except "geared top" and "arc inside," which should be printed on a side with a raft. Post-Printing Assembly Guide The parts are glued together using acetone. I use a small syringe with a needle to apply it evenly where the parts meet. Two coats of acetone before pressing the parts together ensure a strong bond. After counting to ten, they are firmly attached and ready for assembly. Glue "tower front" and "tower back" to the "side" parts Next, glue the "arc inside" part to the "side" parts Then, attach the second "arc" part on top Finally, glue the "geared top" part in place Once assembled, place it on a platform and check that it fits neatly.
