Sy's Peglock - Parametric Loop Mounts.

Sy's Peglock - Parametric Loop Mounts.

This is vaguely similar to Sy's Peglock - Screwdriver but parametric so you can create a wide variety of loop sizes and shapes to suit different tools. It can be used with my Sy's Peglock - Parametric Pegboard Attachment or Sy's Peglock - DIN Rail Attachment to create custom tool holder loops for pegboard or DIN Rail tool holders.PrintingThere are a variety of uploaded 3mf files for various hooks that I've found useful. The naming of the files is in the form “Peglock Loop Mount v<version> <Loop Top Diameter>-<Loop Top Height>-<Loop Mid Diameter>-<Loop Mid Height>-<Loop Bottom Diameter>-<Loop Bottom Height>-<Loop Offset>.stl”. It doesn't require any raft/brim and prints fine using default “fast” printer settings with 0.3mm layers, but you should use at least 3 shells for strength. Print it standing upright with supports. With FlashPrint I found I had to play with the support settings to avoid excessive hard-to-remove supports, and it was different with each model. If using supports, I find pillar supports touching the platform only works best. On my Flashforge Adventurer 3 it prints in about  40mins, depending on the loop size.UsageJust slide it over the peglock attachment of your choice. With the pegboard attachment you need to insert the attachment into the pegboard before sliding the hook mount over it. You can remove it by sliding it back off. You may need to tap it up with a rubber mallet or something similar to dislodge it.CustomizingIf you have special requirements you can generate your own models. Modifying and exporting this model doesn't require you to sign up for any accounts or download any software.  Just follow these instructions below!ParametersCurrently there are 7 parameters that are adjustable, but let me know if you need anything else to be adjustable and I can update it! Some combinations of values are invalid and will result in a malformed mount. Play with the values till you get what you want.Loop Top Diameter - The inside diameter at the top of the loop. In the range 5mm to 50mm.Loop Top Height - The height of the loop top above the mount base. In the range 5mm to 100mm but must be greater than Loop Mid Height and Loop Bottom Height.Loop Mid Diameter - The inside diameter of the loop at a “mid point”. In the range 5mm to 50mm.Loop Mid Height - The height of the loop “mid point” above the mount base. In the range -50mm to 100mm but must be between Loop Top Height and Loop Bottom Height.Loop Bottom Diameter - The inside diameter at the bottom of the loop. In the range 0mm to 50mm. Note must be greater than zero, but 0.1mm gives an “almost closed" bottom like a cup with a hole in it.Loop Bottom Height - The height of the loop bottom above the mount base. In the range -50mm to 45mm but must be less than Loop Top Height and Loop Mid Height.Loop Offset - How far forward the inside edge of the largest loop diameter is from the mount face. In the range 0mm to 25mm.The Top, Mid, and Bottom Diameters and Heights define the inside profile of the loop, and it will conically taper between them. This allows you to define a variety of tube and funnel shapes. The bottom and mid heights can be set negative to have the loop “hang down” below the bottom of the mount. The mount base will be 25mm x 50mm (so that it tiles nicely on a 1" pegboard), and large loop sizes will overhang the top/bottom/sides of the base. DirectionsNavigate to the OnShape Document. Go to the Peglock Loop Mount tab and change the parameters as needed. Right click on the Peglock Loop Mount part in the bottom left corner and click Export… Choose STL or 3MF as the format, adjust the other settings as you see fit, and click Export
