SAFETY, DURABILITY AND LONGEVITY HAS NOT YET BEEN TESTED (but it's gotta be better than strapping tape to cover a torque-wrapped foam tip ...)\r\n\r\nBased on arrow impact tests, these caps should be printed in TPU for maximum impact resistance. 100% infill is required on the leading .03" (make the tip solid at the very least). \r\n\r\nPRINT AND USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!\r\n\r\nIntroducing a printable golf club shaft tip designed specifically for graphite golf club shaft LARP weapons. The old accepted standard for tipping a shaft involved building up tape and capping it with a penny, which works - until the penny comes loose. The current accepted standard involves tightly layering foam over the tip with strapping tape. Foam and tape? That's just not good enough. Let's do better.\r\n\r\nI designed these caps in Fusion 360, matching the taper in the I.D. of the cap to the taper on the golf club shaft I'm currently working with, which gains about .02" per inch. The smaller cap is .5" O.D., while the larger cap is .75" O.D. (the same width/surface area as a penny).\r\n\r\nBecause golf clubs get thicker as they move away from the tip, I've included this information: The width of the cap at its deepest part is .35" wide, meaning you can scale up the smaller .5" cap to match the width of your golf club shaft - at whatever thickness and length tip you're using.
