Sword of Feast and Famine

Design: Based on Steve Belledin's update on Sword of Feast and Famine, I created a 9-piece print using the maximum dimensions on a Makerbot Replicator5. The entire piece measures 1.03 meters in length. Making It: Print each part with the sword sticking straight up for a clean surface. Use wooden dowels to attach parts; you can find them at Amazon or your local hardware store. These dowels add axial strength and expand when used with wood glue, fitting perfectly into place. I printed mine in ABS at 15% infill, experiencing some warping along the edges. However, clustering pieces densely minimizes perimeter on the raft, reducing warp and lift issues. Glue or use putty to smooth out joints, then add rattan straw, floral wire, and ivy to complete your masterpiece.
