I designed my second LED light, "The Arc", which employs the IKEA Ledberg Spotlight and borrows design elements from it. These include a two-part arm, the head itself, and a circular base. Unlike "The Arc", this lamp is intended to be mounted on a wall, ideally near a bed. This necessitated the inclusion of a swivel mechanism in my design. The arm can pivot by 45° in both directions, allowing it to cast light on any point with precision. My build utilized 6.5 mm thick beech plywood, which I cut using my desktop CNC machine courtesy of Zenziwerken.de. To secure the arm in place, I employed a series of tiny nails that were trimmed to match the base and corresponding magnets. This setup enables the arm to lock into position reliably.
