SwivelHips Kit for the HiTecRCD RoboNova-1 BiPedal Robot
thingiverse
This MakerBotable kit allows you to modify your RoboNova-1 by adding an extra degree of freedom, enabling its legs to pronate and supinate while maintaining a height of 30cm. By upgrading the servo drive horn with splines, the center of gravity remains lower for improved stability. Although the kit makes the robot slightly wider and thicker, it still appears similar in size to the original. All parts are designed for MakerBot printing using a CupCake MakerBot except for the rubber band, which can be sourced from a local post office. A video demonstration showcases the added value and size comparisons, while animated GIFs provide further visuals. The aluminum bracket SolidWorks files will be uploaded to 3D Content Central Library soon. This project is an entry for makezine.com/go/makerbot contest. To assemble, MakerBot the pieces – one of each, except for Front/Back parts where two are needed. Share your successful build-files and machine types for others to use.
