The Maxim machine gun 1904 for the Russian Navy features a swivel as a common component of all mounting variations. The gun rests on it with the front ends of the box's sides, using a check that serves as the rotation axis; the rear end of the box is connected to the upper part of the lift mechanism, the stem of which is clamped by a friction stop designed on the projecting back of the swivel's protrusion. The Maxim machine gun's swivel is made of bronze.
