Swivel Hinged Floor with Counter Rotating Front Bulkhead. Simplicity is at the core of this design with few moving parts, easy assembly and maintenance and readily available materials.A. Includes motor driven counter-rotating front bulkhead taking the Roll axis from the floor and into the front plane. Hatches remain upright which makes entry and exit possible as they are always plumb.B. Hatches remain perpendicular to the ground plane and coincident with gravity.C. Docked module will have similar rotational bulkhead. Hatches remain aligned throughout all actuations and have coincident horizontal axes.D. Deployed Length 1450 at zero posn.E. Stowed length 710mm of centre.F. When at min Pitch and Max Yaw floor length is 1080 giving sufficient clearance for hatch opening.G. When at max Pitch floor length 1760.H. Lightweight Carbon Fibre Composite Static/Swivel Floor Weight under 50 Kg per side.I. Three piston rams for Stewart Articulation, Note: No Floor Collisions at any X Y Z +/- 15 degreesInitial Design Considerations:1. Roll Pitch and Yaw - Determination of Rotational Centroid - Located at Centroid of Outer Bulkheads.2. Note the pic depicting the astronaut to scale is 76 inches tall from floor to top of hatch door opening. In all actuality they are taller than this given helmet size and back pack etc.3. Note: the bulkheads depicted are larger in diameter than the supplied NASA Simple Model in order to accomodate the floor at the required level below the hatch lip and the ability to manoeuvre through the portal when docked.4. I considered how difficult it was to walk on a floor and through a hatchway that is tilted in Roll.5. My design is informed from years of ocean racing on maxi yachts including Sydney to Hobart and the difficulty walking inside a yacht when it is healed over on a tac.6. Also many years service in armoured vehicles and working in a command vehicle when it is on sloping ground.7. I could not conceive a situation where a logistics or other docked module would be situated where its own floor was on a lean. It would need levelling capability.8. Thus my solution was to allow for an inner ring in the outer bulkhead to counter-rotate when the docking ring was required to Roll.
