Switch Portrait / Vertical / Flip Grip with locking mechanism
thingiverse
I appreciate how Ace_D reimagined the Switch portrait holder with a comfortable grip. However, after printing his design, I encountered several problems. The right handle is largely detached from the central piece. The console fits very tightly. There's no bottom to hold the console securely, relying only on friction. The vent position is off center. The back air intakes are blocked by design. The Joycons aren't easily removable because the release button is mostly obstructed. So I took matters into my own hands and remixed this remix. Below are my key design enhancements: The right handle is now solidly attached to the central piece. The console holder now has a bottom to securely hold it in place. The console holder now features a locking mechanism to keep the Switch firmly in position. I've loosened the fit so your Switch won't get scratched. The new bottom and lock make friction unnecessary. I've filled the inaccurate vent holes and cut out a precise outlet for the vent and back air intakes. (Place the Switch with the power button facing up.) I've cut out parts of the grips to make the release button more accessible. I've lowered the central piece so the grip stands more stably now. Although I still wouldn't recommend letting it stand for an extended period. I'd say the grip is almost perfect now. Enjoy your favorite portrait games! Raiden, 194x, pinball, Ikaruga, and many more – you name them!
