Switch plates for kids room
youmagine
I recently created a set of switch plates that were originally intended for my kid's room but ended up replacing all the switches at home. I had to print a new batch with ABS when I ran out of PLA, and they look just as good. My child is still learning to speak but can already identify various shapes with ease. In my experience, the mounting bolts on these switch plates tend to come loose if the printer isn't properly calibrated. However, if you set your nozzle size, layer thickness, and temperature correctly in the slicer, they can be extremely strong. The holes in the metal plates are approximately 4mm wide, while my bolts are only 3.5mm, so they fit loosely when printed with a 0.4mm nozzle but sit firmly if printed with a 0.8mm nozzle, and it also prints much faster. Most of these 2D shapes were based on clipart images from various websites, and I apologize for not being able to give credit to the original creators as I don't have their links.
