Switch Panel for Boat
thingiverse
Here is a simple switch panel I designed for my boat. Since most boats have these features, I opted for waterproof switches from Amazon. This panel measures 4 mm in thickness and holds up nicely after filling it with 10% of a standard wall, giving it more than enough strength to support the switches. Plus, the switches snap into place easily. If you want to use different switches, no problem! You can resize the holes to fit your needs. In my STL file, I've labeled each switch's intended function for reference purposes. However, since this is a separate file, you're free to make changes or deletions as needed without affecting the panel's design. The STL and text files are independent of one another. When printing this panel, consider these instructions: First, position the base model on your build platform, taking into account its height (in my case, 4 mm). Next, load the switch label file, elevate it to match the panel thickness, then place it above or adjacent to the switches. I chose a dual extruder approach, which allowed me to print both the panel and the switch labels in different colors. You can adapt this method as needed. The STL files come pre-set for 10% infill with a basic border; this setting yielded sufficient structural integrity for the finished product.
